Earlier I ranted about how everything and anything that goes wrong is all our fault and how we must do all we can to achieve whatever we want. I can’t help but to (disagree with myself and) offer a contradictory antithesis to that argument.

Perhaps sometimes there are just things that are beyond our control. In fact, they always are beyond our control. In this world there are too many factors apart from your effort to create an outcome. It could be that the people above are hard to deal with, the people below just aren’t learning — and you’re already doing all you can. Circumstances often dictate what we can or cannot do and trying harder is not going to grant us the capacity to overcome these circumstances.

For one, I am alarmed that I have sort of lost touch with my Effort Results Curve during this long period of break. There will come a point on the curve where additional effort will not translate into additional results but become stagnant. This applies to learning or more specifically practising a skill i.e. running. If Effort/Result >1 , then it is not worth the effort. One is better off lazing around all day. (Instinctively, I can counter this but I shall save it for another day)

More often than not, some of us already do try too hard. (you know who you are) We all need a break sometimes — which is why I decided to go on holiday on an island resort in Thailand.

For the past few days, I have got the following:
1. Black skin (more of dark grey actually, my grey skin just turns dark grey  ><) —  rehab for a year without much sun.. It has burnt off chunks of my brain already I think. Sun is bad for health.

2. Realisation that the reason I may end up in NUS is because of holidays like this. ><

3. A photo with a 人妖.(and the shudders that come with it) Tall beautiful woman with a voice deeper than mine. shock.
I HAVE BEEN INSPIRED TO TRANSVORM. OPERATION HERE I COME. ><

Strange that any guy would want to go for a sechs change. Wait, where did they get the money to do the op? (I realised this as I was packing stuff before I received a plastic chest and a heck lot of oestrogen shots.) Maybe they have back alley plastic surgeons much like back alley abortionists — my favourite Mister Rusty Hanger and Uncle Vacuum Cleaner, not to mention the Brothers Screwdriver (HAHAHA NO PUN) and Lectric-Drill.

Chances are — there are shows in thailand that specialise in showing off the men-turned-women. The question is: do these companies/theatres fund the men even before they remove their schmeckel. (i just found a good reason not to Transvorm — ack, it pains me to imagine) There must after all be some reason why there are so many of them concentrated in one specific country. Culture?!

Oh, one last thing I learnt — not using the com/net for three-four days overloads my phone and mailbox. The wonders of technology and how very intrusive of technology — i have been reminded of another one those Great Adventures i will be embarking on next year.

[This post gets filed under evolution of gender roles… uh, yeah, literally an evolution of gender…]

I am appalled. Even the laziest people I know are starting to exercise over the holidays i.e. go to gym/run/swim. Incidentally they’re all from … Eventually I may very well get peer pressured to stop spending all my time in bed/ on the swing.

Exercise is after all a good thing — for health, for mental clarity, for emotional spirits, for surviving two years three months in the jungle.

As far as possible, if i were to exercise at all, it would probably not involve not stepping out of the house. I don’t have weights, or access to a gym which makes me severely underequipped. Its highly unlikely that i run at all unless at night.

So it will probably involve 4 sets of 25 pushups and crunches with a two minute break between each! And it will be done once in the morning and once at night!!

.
. [Insert picture of female athletes exercising! They’re dark, have MAN ARMS and six packs. omg.]
.

As if la. -_-

Laziness triumphs again. One month of the holiday has already passed, the remaining one month shall be spent in bed/ in the swing. I shall cut down on going out so as to get proper rest. I shall trust that the Effort Results Curve applies to other areas as well. heh.

On a side note, I foresee not sleeping at all till tmr since I just slept for five hours from 4pm-9pm.

Screw giant oxygen tanks to sleep in. Breathing in pure oxygen has been proven to severely screw a person up and cause a great need for little boys. (Read a bit of biology on how the lungs function and know diffusion and you’ll realise why breathing in pure oxygen will screw you up)

What I want (in addition to my pot to bathe in) is

A COOLANT TANK — to sleep in/use laptop

It’s a very Ethan way of thinking but it will be nice and comfy and can be used to prolong my life!

Consider this as an extension of how we can preserve our body cells through low temperatures. Just not the subzero-preserve-body-for-thousand-years kind of temperature. Heat will speed up death of cells etc. COnsidering the brain’s optimum temperature is 19 degrees celsius, maybe we would even think better!

Maybe not a tank with aircon inside, but at least a bed with cold current running under neath and over the blankets…

Ah heck, i dont even use the air con at home (only leave windows open) ><

Now to move to expound on my theory
The correlation between hot weather and screwed up countries

Ladies and gentlemen, the sun is an Evil
Two key generalisations (which can be consider to be assertions but rather reasonable)
1. Most countries located near the equator with droughts and hot weather and all are poor and screwed up with corruption and everything
2. Most great thinkers and nobel prize winners are from Europe and temperate countries. Ever heard of a mala-….

Explanation:
1. It is harder to think in hot temperatures since the brain optimum is 19 degrees and it is easier to keep warm to be closer to 19 degrees than to cool down to 19. Plus the brain fnctions better in the cold than in the hot.
2. When its cold outside, people can’t do much work, they head into the house and spend the day doing nothing, thinking inevitably. With no winter, you work all year.

Limitations of argument
1. Lack of exposure to hot areas means that their brilliance is unrecognised — not exactly true, in these day and age of globalisation, that is not really the case. I mean there are nobel prize winers from China.
2. People in these areas are NVS (notverysmart) to begin with — the very fact that they settled down in these hot areas prove it.

Even i see the certain flaws of the argument, i need to buffer it up. hmm…
